Sass Dragons can sound like a melodic, hyper-poppy mash up of The Dwarves and The Queers. With the sense of humor and the spirit of a thousand playful “fuck off”s to match. But to put it as simply as that is a disservice to one of the most fun punk bands to ever grace Chicago’s music scene. Capable of dumping a bongload of lyrical themes -from the most bitingly crass to the most sincerely heartfelt- into pop-punk anthems of equal range, it’s safer to call them punk rock’s Ween. Everyone here at Cassette Deck love them. Not just because we’ve seen there penises. A lot.
